Snapassport

Passport photos shouldn’t be a gamble

Snapassport is an independent tool that turns any phone or camera photo into a government-spec passport or visa photo in about a minute — for a flat $3, with the AI fix included and a free report before you pay.

Why we built it

A rejected passport photo is a uniquely frustrating problem: you only find out weeks later, after a trip to a pharmacy counter, a print, and a mail-in or appointment. The rules — head size to the millimetre, neutral expression, even lighting, a specific background — are real and strict, but almost nobody knows them by heart.

We’re a small, independent team of engineers. We thought the honest version of this should exist: upload any photo, get told exactly what passes and fails against the official spec for free, fix the fixable problems automatically, and pay one fair price only when it actually passes. No mystery fees, no “premium” paywall in front of the basics, and no touching your face.

What we stand for

Honest pricing

A flat $3 for a finished, spec-passing photo — the AI fix is included, not an upsell. The only extra is an optional $10 premium retouch you choose after checkout. No subscription, ever.

Privacy first

Your photo is encrypted in transit, never sold or shared, and automatically deleted within 72 hours. No account or login required.

Built on the real spec

Every check maps to a published government or ICAO requirement — and you see the full report, free, before you ever pay.

Your face, unchanged

The AI corrects background, crop and lighting. It never alters your facial features — every edit is checked against your original and rejected if your identity changes.

The standards behind every check

We don’t guess at the rules — our validation is based on the published, public standards.

  • ICAO Doc 9303

The international standard for machine-readable travel documents — format, expression, lighting, background.

  • ISO/IEC 19794-5

Facial-image quality parameters: resolution, orientation, lighting and framing.

  • Each authority’s published rules

US Department of State, UK HMPO, Schengen/EU and more — mapped per document we support.

A note on who we are

Snapassport is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency. We check your photo against published requirements, but final acceptance is always determined by the issuing authority. If our AI can’t make your photo pass, you’re automatically refunded in full.
